Fedor Emelianenko Sits Idle While M-1 Global Fights Strikeforce Deal

According to a recent interview by Sherdog.com editor Loretta Hunt, who spoke  with M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchstein on Tuesday about the stalled contract negotiations between his company and the Strikeforce promotion, the ball is now in Strikeforce's court. Finkelchstein and M-1 Global are seeking a revised co-promotional agreement to hold additional future events in the US, which would then preclude the return of the M-1 "poster boy" Fedor Emelianenko, who is fast becoming a depreciating product. Justin Wren Released by UFC; Tim Credeur Injured, Withdraws From Fight

MEMPHIS -- Justin Wren, who was a cast member of the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter and who lost his UFC debut in a split-decision at the TUF 10 Finale last Saturday, was cut by the UFC, a source confirmed to FanHouse on Thursday. Wren, who is just 22 years old, did well during TUF, submitting Wes Sims in his first-round matchup before dropping a tight majority decision to eventual TUF champ Roy Nelson in the quarterfinals.
