Brawl After “Strikeforce: Nashville” Brings Smiles to Dana White’s Face
Monday, April 19th, 2010
UFC president Dana White was eating crow all week after his middleweight superstar, Anderson Silva, made a mockery out of the organization’s most monumental show. Time heals all wounds and thankfully for Octagon brass, they only had to wait a week for the “Strikeforce: Nashville” circus to roll into MMA’s ...

So here it is — the moment that might have sunk Strikeforce's chances at getting on network television ever again. (As if the monotonous fights didn't do enough damage to their stock.) When the video cuts away at the 0:15 mark, you miss two things: Jake Shields shoving Jason Miller for getting too close, and Gilbert Melendez shoving Miller immediately afterwards when it looks like Mayhem might retaliate. And then it's time for the shit to have its blind date with the fan. At this point, Scott Coker's only hope is that the post-event brawl creates enough heat that CBS wants to give them another chance, selling Strikeforce ...
BOBBY LASHLEY LIKELY RETURNING IN MAY OR JUNE

The card for the upcoming Strikeforce event in Nashville has been filled. Conspicuous in his absence from the roster is WWE Superstar turned fighter Bobby Lashley, who was originally planned for the promotion’s return to CBS.
Lashley, who trains out of his own American Top Team gym in Colorado, underwent nasal surgery that pushed back his training camp, and according to Strikeforce president Scott Coker, they decided it was best to let him recover and fight another day.
"We had hoped he was going to be on the card in the very beginning, and as we were getting closer to the fight, he had to have a surgery procedure, and I just don't think the timing was ...

Will Strikeforce Crown the Number One Lightweight in the World on CBS?

At UFC 112, the unthinkable happened: BJ Penn lost to Frankie Edgar. After a relatively uneventful five rounds, the judges came back with a unanimous verdict in Edgar's favor. Say what you want about the decision, but BJ let a close fight go to the judges. He looked like a broken and beaten man after the fight.
Does Frankie Edgar jump to number one for beating BJ Penn? I'm sure some people will say yes. Fight Matrix already has Edgar at number one. I'm not a big rankings guy, but I think there is a strong case for ranking Shinya Aoki number one. Edgar's win was not exactly dominant, and a lot of people think he should ...
