M-1 wins first round in fight with Affliction

A judge has refused Affliction’s request to dismiss several claims brought against the company by M-1 Global, the management company behind Fedor Emelianenko. Affliction Entertainment’s legal representatives had argued that the breach of contract claims had no merit, but yesterday a Los Angeles courtroom held differently.
It means that the M-1 Global action against Affliction will proceed. The Russian outfit is claiming that Affliction is in breach of its contract with them and Emelianenko for failing to stage a third event, which had been due to take place on August 1st last year.

UFC president Dana White supports the athletic commission guidelines on drug testing mixed martial artists and compared the rigid policies and punishment to other sports’ testing programs to the media following Saturday’s UFC 108 in Las Vegas.
“They can test us how ever they want to test us. That’s up to the athletic commission.
