The fight began with an in arena blackout in Bojangles, North Carolina that necessitated the airing of a preliminary fight.
Roy Nelson, the winner of the highest rating season of The Ultimate Fighter, came into his fight with 6'11" Stefan Struve talking a big game and carrying big belly on his low slung 6 foot frame.
He quickly demolished his much taller opponent. Dropping him with a huge right hook and following up with savage ground and pound to force the stoppage.
Before the fight rumor had it that Nelson would be fighting top contender Junior Dos Santos if he won this fight.

If there was any question about the level of talent that Roy Nelson would face in his first match-up following his victory on “The Ultimate Fighter Season 10,” look no further than six-foot-eleven-inch heavyweight Stefan Struve, who will oppose the reality show winner Wednesday night at UFC Fight Night 21 in Charlotte, N.C.
