Van Damme vs. Thailand’s Olympic gold medal winner Somluck Kamsing to fight in October 2010 in Las Vegas

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010
The match will use the muaythai format, although elbows will be disallowed at the request of Van Damme who is an actor and doesn’t want his face cut up or disfigured. Somluck will be paid just over $100,000 which does not include the income from broadcasting. "I said I wasn’t lying," said Somluck. "I thought he was of much larger stature. But when we were standing next to each other, he wasn’t any bigger than me. So, I’m confident now. I’m better in muaythai techniques and I will have fun kicking the star. However, I won’t be careless and will keep training myself." Somluck is also hoping to be able to fight other international martial arts stars. from BloodyElbow.com

A ‘livid’ Rashad Evans ready to fight Rampage Jackson when he returns

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

I want to fight this dude so bad.’ I think that when we get a chance to fight, we’re still going to be upset and ready to get it on. That animosity is still going to be there, because we just don’t like each other. I could see ...

Sunday, December 6th, 2009
UFC president Dana White was noticeably absent from The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale post-event press conference, and it may have been for the best. The Nevada State Athletic Commission utilized instant replay to determine the outcome of a mixed martial arts contest for the first time in its history on the TUF 10 Finale card, and White's favorite whipping-boy official, Steve Mazzagatti, was responsible for utilizing the technology. But NSAC executive director Keith Kizer was at the gathering, and he believes Mazzagatti handled the situation precisely as instructed by the commission's regulations. "It's completely up to the referee," Kizer said. "When Mazzagatti came around and looked at the replay, they were actually showing a perfect angle. ...
