Is Fedor’s Ranking At Stake?

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="340" caption="Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images"][/caption] It wasn't long ago that the UFC had a 45-year-old heavyweight champion, and Tim Sylvia, Fabricio Werdum, Gabriel Gonzaga and an aged Antonio Nogueira were some of the biggest contenders for that belt. Since then, Couture lost the championship via 2nd round TKO to Brock Lesnar, Fabricio Werdum was KO'd in the ...

UFC Fight Night 21 Results: Roy Nelson Flattens Stefan Struve

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Before the fight rumor had it that Nelson would be fighting top contender Junior Dos Santos if he won this fight.  Looks like that fight will happen. And it looks like people ...

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Waiting in the shadows for the winner of that fight will be Cain Velasquez, who will likely sit and wait for his title shot until after the unification bout this summer. UFC president Dana White commented on the status of the next two contenders in the heavyweight division on Saturday night after UFC 111 ended in Newark, N.J. To hear White tell it, Velasquez has already done enough to fight for the title and now it's just a matter of waiting for one champion to stand tall. Then he'll get his shot. "Cain's waiting ...

What’s Next for Frank Mir?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
After screaming in horror at Dan Miragliotta's decision to allow Shane Carwin to repeatedly punch a man laying face down with his arms out, it struck me that Frank Mir's career is once again at a crossroads. Having lost two of three fights at heavyweight, he once again finds himself in a position where he must win his next fight to stay relevant. Frank Mir is one of the company's top attractions, mostly because of his way with words. He doesn't need to be a world beater to stay on top of cards, he simply needs to stay relevant. Even though he lost to Shane Carwin this past Saturday, if he wins two fights while ...
