CYBORG TO DEFEND AGAINST JAN FINNEY ON JUNE 26

 Strikeforce women’s middleweight (145-pound) champion Cris “Cyborg” Santos is set to return to action as part of the Strikeforce and M-1 Global co-promoted event on June 26 in San Jose, Calif. Now she has an opponent. Cyborg will defend her belt against veteran fighter Jan Finney, according to a report by MMAJunkie.com. Cyborg has been indestructible since emerging in Strikeforce early last year. She has racked up three straight victories under the promotion’s banner, including her title capturing destruction of Gina Carano in August. Her professional record currently stands at 9-1. CRIS CYBORG AND CUNG LE RETURN IN JUNE

   As Strikeforce draws ever nearer to it’s April 17 date in Nashville, the promotion is already starting to forge ahead with plans for another major show in June that will feature a current champion and a former champion on the same card. Another event, on May 15, has already been scheduled and announced for St. Louis. While the June card has not officially been released, it's believed Strikeforce will put a show on late in the month at the HP Pavilion in its hometown of San Jose, Calif. Scott Coker working on a slew of big fights including Lashley vs. Rogers

Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker has revealed he’s currently working on the next round of big fights for over the summer, including a potentially blockbuster clash between heavyweights Bobby Lashley and Brett Rogers. MMA fans and critics alike have been calling for Lashley to take a step up in competition, especially considering how easily he walked through Wes Sims last night in Florida. In Rogers, who last hung with Fedor Emelianenko for almost eight minutes, he would certainly get it.
