Sunday, September 12th, 2010
Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight contender Kenny ”KenFlo” Florian has hired a wrestling coach and expects to make a return to the UFC in early 2011.
Florian, coming off a unanimous decision loss to Gray “The Bully” Maynard, at UFC 118 is redoubling his efforts to become a more complete fighter.
Prior to the fight, UFC President Dana White had indicated that the winner of Florian vs. Maynard would go on to fight for the UFC lightweight championship. Had Florian defeated Maynard, he would have been in line for his third shot at the championship belt.
After the defeat, which came in front of Florian’s hometown of Boston, he took an ...
WHITE FED UP WITH THIAGO ALVES MISSING WEIGHT
Monday, August 9th, 2010
Heading into his scheduled welterweight bout with Jon Fitch at UFC 117 on Saturday night, Thiago Alves failed to make weight. He came in a half pound over the 171-pound limit for a welterweight fight and declined to cut any more weight. He instead fought Fitch at a catchweight and forfeited 20 percent of his fight purse.
After dominating Alves for three rounds, Fitch was okay with Alves’ blunder.
"It was only half a pound and the thing with California, like when I fought Diego (Sanchez) here I missed weight too my first try, the scales are digital and they round up to half a pound. He could have been a fraction of a quarter of ...

Just today I got the call from Tapout, and was told representatives of the UFC threatened to break all contracts with their organization and categorically demanded Tapout discontinue the Fedor Emelianenko T-shirt line.
"That Dana White has displayed such an attitude ...

Werdum, trained in Brazilian jujitsu, said before the fight that his game plan was to take Fedor to the ground and keep him there. One problem Fabricio, we're talking about Fedor Emelianenko, the baddest dude in Strikeforce. Arn't we?
Fedor knocked Werdum down about thirty seconds into the first round, but Werdum recovered nicely by slipping Fedor into ...
Scott Coker to Dana White: ‘Can’t We All Just Get Along?’
Saturday, June 19th, 2010
When MMA Fighting asked Dana White following UFC 115 whether he was concerned Strikeforce would try to re-sign their middleweight champion Jake Shields, the UFC president made it very clear, once again, that he does not view the San Jose-based organization as being any kind of threat.
"Strikeforce doesn't mean jack sh** to me," White said. "I could care less what they're doing. I can't even believe that people put their name in a conversation. 'Oh, what about Strikeforce?' What about Strikeforce? They're minor league. You might as well ask me about what is going ...
