Parisyan, Bustamante, Sokoudjou, Kang, More UFC Vets Headed to Impact FC

Karo Parisyan, Murilo Bustamante, Jeff Monson, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Paulo Filho and Denis Kang have been confirmed by the promoters with opponents for Impact FC's upcoming cards in Australia on July 10 and July 18.
Additionally, Monson and Filho are in for double duty, slated to fight on both cards. Monson is lined up to fight Bira Lima and then former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez. Meanwhile, Filho will take on Keith Johnson and then UFC and PRIDE veteran Kang.

Alistair Overeem’s Chance to Face Fedor Emelianenko Ruined by Steroid Abuse

It has become apparent to all that Overeem will never be given the chance to face Fedor Emelianenko. The juiced-up steroid junkie will instead face Brett "Grimm" Rogers sometime in May 2010.
It is not simply Overeem's extreme usage of growth hormones and steroids that is preventing a battle with Fedor. Simply stated, Fedor's management does not consider him a "worthy" opponent.
In fact, Fedor's manager had this to say: "I personally think that Alistair Overeem did not reach the desired level to challenge Fedor. He beat a lot of no-name opponents in mixed martial arts. Overeem defeated Paul Buentello and then disappeared from the United States for more than two years, which is simply ridiculous."

The deal to bring Fedor Emelianenko back to Strikeforce isn’t a done deal yet, but the promotion is hopeful he'll be on board for a June fight against Fabricio Werdum.
Just last month the word was that Fedor was confirmed for the June card, and while Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker says they are hopeful to have him on the show in San Jose, Calif., it's an ongoing situation.
"We have a date in June on hold for him, and we're hoping we work things out where he can come fight that fight," said Coker when appearing on MMAWeekly Radio on Wednesday night.
