At UFC 112, the unthinkable happened: BJ Penn lost to Frankie Edgar. After a relatively uneventful five rounds, the judges came back with a unanimous verdict in Edgar's favor. Say what you want about the decision, but BJ let a close fight go to the judges. He looked like a broken and beaten man after the fight.
Does Frankie Edgar jump to number one for beating BJ Penn? I'm sure some people will say yes. Fight Matrix already has Edgar at number one. Strikeforce announced the undercard line-up of its April 17 “Nashville” event on Monday, which will include a former local college football standout and the son of a UFC 6 veteran.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed to Sherdog.com that Bobby Lashley will not appear for the event, which will emanate from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., as was previously expected. Coker did not give a reason for the former WWE champion’s exclusion. Lashley, who’s 5-0 in MMA, also splits his time as a TNA pro wrestler.

Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker has revealed he’s currently working on the next round of big fights for over the summer, including a potentially blockbuster clash between heavyweights Bobby Lashley and Brett Rogers.
MMA fans and critics alike have been calling for Lashley to take a step up in competition, especially considering how easily he walked through Wes Sims last night in Florida. In Rogers, who last hung with Fedor Emelianenko for almost eight minutes, he would certainly get it.
Other potential fights mentioned include a champion vs. champion clash between DREAM’s Shinya Aoki and the man currently holding Strikeforce gold, Gilbert Melendez, a welterweight title clash between Nick Diaz and Hayoto Sakuri and women’s champ, Cris “Cyborg” Santos taking on Erin ...
