The California State Athletic Commission has suspended ten “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” contestants for injuries sustained in their respective scraps this past Saturday in Sacramento, CA. Company superstar Urijah Faber and his severely battered leg will be forced to sit the sidelines for up to six months.

What’s Left for Urijah Faber?
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010
As a resident of California and a fan of Urijah Faber, I was sad and disappointed to see his loss to Jose Aldo. Don't get me wrong, by all accounts Aldo is a great guy, an outstanding fighter, and a strong representative of Mixed Martial arts.
However, so is Urijah Faber.
So whats left for the California kid? Well first off he's not really a kid anymore, he's a month shy of turning 31, and I am sure that punishment may be a little harder to shake off than it was 10 years ago.
He's a charismatic, handsome, clean image guy and I think he would be an excellent commentator. He could be a ...
Urijah Faber and the Price of Pride
Monday, April 26th, 2010
There are nights when toughness alone is enough. Then there are nights when it only makes things worse.
If there were any doubts that former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber is one of the gutsiest things on two legs, consider them now put to rest. At some point your concern turns into awe, and then your awe turns into pity.
For Faber, that point might have been when he had to be carried into his ...

In other sports athletes can usually end a losing streak the next day or the next week, but in fighting losses take on added significance because you won't get a chance to win again for months.
In the case of Urijah Faber, the former WEC featherweight champion who lost to Jose Aldo on Saturday, it's going to be at least a few months before he can put aside the ridiculous notion ...
Urijah Faber Finally Gets His Day, but Is It Too Late?
Saturday, April 24th, 2010
April 23 might be a date remembered by literature nerds everywhere as the day William Shakespeare was (probably) born, and also as the day he died, but April 22? At least in Sacaramento, Calif. that will henceforth be known as Urijah Faber Day, thanks to a proclamation made Thursday by Sacramento mayor and former NBA star Kevin Johnson.
Two questions spring immediately to mind: 1) How is it that Kevin Johnson became the mayor of a major American city without me knowing about it? Was the clip of him dunking over Hakeem Olajuwon a centerpiece of his ...
