Tito Ortiz is not going to jail.
The Orange County District Attorney’s office on Thursday confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that no charges would be filed against the former UFC light heavyweight champion. TMZ.com first reported the D.A.’s decision.
“We declined to file charges based on insufficient corroboration to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Orange County D.A. spokesperson Farrah Emami told MMAWeekly.com.
Ortiz was arrested on April 26 for alleged domestic violence following an altercation between he and his longtime companion, Jenna Jameson, at their California home.
Jameson’s father, who was present at the time, reportedly called police, who took Ortiz away in handcuffs.
Jameson was very vocal following the incident, offering several conflicting comments to TMZ.com in the days following Ortiz’s arrest, which may have influenced the determination to not file charges.
