For Chuck Liddell it's not about one more knockout of Tito Ortiz. It's not about coaching on “The Ultimate Fighter,” or even leaving his career with a win. It's about getting back to the light heavyweight championship.
The former champion said on Monday that just getting a fight or getting a win over Tito Ortiz isn't enough. He's hoping to string together enough wins to get another shot at the 205-pound belt that he held for so long.

Operating room spies tell TMZ Thiago Alves just underwent an 8 hour operation to separate an artery from a vein in his brain.
Dana White tells TMZ the operation -- in a New York City hospital -- was a complete success and Pitbull's first words ... "When can I start training again?"
Dana's answer ... a couple of weeks.
We're told Pitbull will be in ICU for the next two days

British lightweight prospect Andre Winner has had to wait nearly four months before treading the boards to the cage again. This time he will be walking out to the crowd in North Carolina as part of the UFC Fight Night 21 card, taking on tricky Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu stylist Rafaello Oliveira.
“Oliveira is an aggressive, wild striker with a solid jiu-jitsu background,” states the Rough House fighter, before adding confidently, “he lets you think you are getting out of things before using that to set up something else. He is quite crafty in his grappling, but I have been working my ground game and wrestling.”

CAIN VELASQUEZ WAITING IN THE WINGS FOR A SHOT

Brock Lesnar will look to return to action in July against new interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin. Waiting in the shadows for the winner of that fight will be Cain Velasquez, who will likely sit and wait for his title shot until after the unification bout this summer.
UFC president Dana White commented on the status of the next two contenders in the heavyweight division on Saturday night after UFC 111 ended in Newark, N.J.
To hear White tell it, Velasquez has already done enough to fight for the title and now it's just a matter of waiting for one champion to stand tall. Then he'll get his shot.

LOMBARD VS. FILHO SET FOR BELLATOR MAY 13

It looks like former WEC and Pride champion Paulo Filho will try to make another go of it in the United States when he faces Hector Lombard in a middleweight superfight for Bellator Fighting Championships on May 13.
The promotion officially announced the previously rumored bout on Tuesday, stating the fight would be a non-title affair with the venue for the fight still to be determined.
Filho was widely considered one of the top middleweights in the world just a few short years ago, but the Brazilian fell on hard times during his stint with the WEC after moving their when Pride was purchased by Zuffa.
Going 2-1 with the promotion, Filho never quite looked himself in any of his fights ...
